Your Guide to the StraitsX Knowledge Assessment

As a regulated digital payment token service provider (DPTSP) licensed and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), our users’ trust and safety are of utmost importance. In line with MAS regulatory requirements, DPTSP like StraitsX will be required to highlight the risks of digital assets (i.e Digital Payment Tokens (DPTs)) to our users and ensure that our users are familiar with them. Tip: To assist you in understanding the risks involved and aid you in passing the assessment, you are encouraged to read the educational materials provided under each of the questions before attempting your answer.

What is the Knowledge Assessment?

This is a short multiple-choice assessment consisting of 7 questions, where each question covers a specific risk topic surrounding DPTs.

The assessment should only take under 3 minutes to complete and will cover the following risk topics:

• Price volatility: Why does the value of DPTs fluctuate
• Liquidity risks: Market conditions that can affect how easily you can sell your DPTs 
• Knowledge of Stablecoins: What are stablecoins, and how are they different from other DPTs
• Custody risks: How are your DPTs stored and secured by a DPTSP 
• Technology risks: The technological risk surrounding DPTs such technological/operational issues or security risks such as cyber-attacks
• Business conduct risks: Conduct risks arising from different combinations of DPT trading activities conducted by your DPTSP, such as conflicts of interest.
• Risk of dealing with unregulated entities: The dangers of transacting with DPT platforms or providers that are not licensed or overseen by regulatory authorities.
  

Why is this necessary?

This assessment is designed to highlight the key risks when dealing with DPTsto be better equipped when making informed financial decisions.

It is important to pass the assessment by 16 June 2025 to continue using our DPT services and prevent the restriction of certain features in your account.

Who needs to take the assessment?

This assessment is mandatory for all personal users of the StraitsX platform for DPT services. 

How do I take the assessment?

Below are the steps you need to take the assessment:

1. Log in to your StraitsX account to take the assessment.
2. Complete the verification if you are a new user. 
3. A pop-up will appear to notify you to take the assessment.
4. Click “Take the Assessment" 
5. Follow the provided instructions to begin the assessment
6. Complete the assessment by reading the provided educational materials right below the question

 The passing requirement for the quiz is 5 out of 7 questions. Most users pass on the first try, and you are allowed to retake it as many times as needed.
